Konbanwa! I’ve long been a fan of Gallery Fumiwo, and I was thrilled to see that owner and creator Fumiwo Rau had not just one but two offerings at the Relay for Life (RFL) Clothing Fair!

100% of the proceeds from your donations for both of these beautiful outfits go to the American Cancer Society.

As you can see from the pictures, Fumi specializes in period clothing. Each of her outfits has lots of prim and texture detailing (love Love LOVE detail!!!), and all of them is just beautiful!

This outfit is called Bleu Magenta. The skirt is made of multiple slim vertical prims that move beautifully as you walk, and come to rest in a lovely drape when your av is still, as you can see in the picture. The sleeves on this outfit are to die for. The pretty hat pictured is included, as are the choker and earrings. I’ve added boots from Vinci.

The Peacock outfit comes with a crown (not shown) and earrings. The pretty ruffles down the front of the chest are flexi, and move beautifully. I’ve added a hat from Wild O to top off this dress.

Interview: RFL Designer Neko Harrop of Fukuneko

Konichiwa! I had the pleasure this past week of spending some time with Neko Harrop, creator and owner of the store Fukuneko. Neko is offering the beautiful morning glory kimono pictured when you make a donation to the American Cancer Society at her store at the Relay for Life (RFL) clothing fair (SLURL: Gift Of Life/131/133/22)

Neko lives in the city of Fukuoka on the island of Kyushu. Fukuoka is the biggest city in southwestern Japan. Neko is currently a homemaker, and was formerly a kimono specialist. She loves kimono, and so decided to create them in SL.

Neko offers kimono of several types, from those appropriate for every day wear, such as her RFL kimono, to her newly released wedding kimono. (Neko’s wedding kimono are so exquisite, and so finely crafted and detailed, that, not only did I just have to have one, but I will be doing a separate blog post on them so I can attempt to do them justice.)

Fukuneko’s RFL kimono with its morning glory motifs is perfect for spring with its lavender base color and pretty pastel accents. The geta (sandals) and tabi (socks) pictured are included with the kimono. Please note that the hair ornaments pictured are not included, but are available for sale at Fukuneko (SLURL: Zushi/149/163/23).

As Neko moved along with her kimono designing and creating, she became interested in working with tiny prims, and from there expanded her line to include traditional Japanese hair ornaments.

I collect hair ornaments from the Japanese creators, and my inventory holds many of them, so these are items I am very familiar with. I can say without hesitation that Neko’s hair ornaments are the most beautiful I have seen in SL. The level of detail and beauty is a testament to Neko’s careful artistry and talent.

Neko’s future plans include creating more of the various types of traditional kimono, as well as further refinement of her beautiful textures. Neko also plans to expand her line of men’s kimono.

I am so happy to have found this wonderful store, and I will be back to shop many times!

I am also very happy to have met Neko. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me, Neko! Thank you also for your generosity in supporting the RFL charity event. Many thanks also to RFL’s Accura Kurosawa for introducing me to Neko and Fukuneko, and for translating during our interview. Your help was greatly appreciated!

Enjoy the RFL clothing fair, everyone!
